Join us for a FREE sensory garden crafts and movement workshop to celebrate a new community garden being built at the Westy at the end of the summer.
We’ll use soil, wooden sticks, and responsibly sourced plants, as well as the usual craft materials, to draw and make small 3D gardens, and then further explore the sensory qualities of the natural world through gently guided movement. Expect lots of soil-covered fingers and a pitter-patter of bare feet!
Suitable for 4-10 year olds, with a parent/carer.
Two sessions will run on the day - 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm. The workshops are free, but booking is essential as spaces are limited!
Run by two local artists, Barbara Touati-Evans and Judita Vivas, this workshop is part of The Places That Link Us, an outdoor arts project reaching across the Rushmoor community and the area, providing opportunities to create and come together outdoors, and increasing awareness of local green spaces. As part of the project, the West End Centre in Aldershot, with the help of the Blooming Marvellous community gardening group, is building a brand-new community garden at the back of the building, transforming a currently unused, concrete, urban space into a shared green space, due to be opened in August-September 2025.
