The Creating The Future project aims to bring together musicians, promoters and others interested in a career in music to build knowledge, networks and community. Following the launch gig on May 2nd we'll have a series of meet ups/workshops where emerging promoters and musicians get together to learn from each other and from grassroots experts. Facilitated by Barney Jeavons (agent, manager, collaborator at Kick Arts UK) the group will put on gigs in both venue spaces at West End Centre and gain a greater insight into the wider industry in the process. There will also be individual mentoring available alongside this. This opportunity is open to anyone over the age of 18.

Meetings will take place Saturdays between 12.00pm and 2pm:

Massive thanks to everyone who's made this possible, particular thanks to Arts Council England and the amazing team in the SW - without their support none of this would be possible. Big love also to our other partners in the excitement: Sound Roots, Brighten The Corners, SoCo Music, Forward 4 Wiz Trust, Culture Connects, Rushmoor Borough Council, Rushmoor Voluntary Service, The Belgae Trust, Chris from Jasta 11 Promotions & Management, Ricky from The Joiners, Catherine from The Lounge Bar/Radar Festival, Jamie from So Young/Honeymooner/Parallel Music Conference and everyone at West End Centre.

Funded by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport as part of the UK Government’s Creative industries sector vision, £5 million has been invested to support Grassroots Music.
