Calling all children and parents/guardians who love tactile and manipulation materials! Come and experience this wonderful natural resource and learn pottery. You will be using two types of clay to make sculptural creations to then be fired. This workshop is designed for children who can sit with either a parent/guardian or alone and can listen to short instructions. Although clay is a natural material, it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to monitor the child’s use.

Tutor: Fiona Sandover.

Fiona is a very experienced teacher of ceramics. She has taught in this field for more than 25 years to all ages and levels of ability. Her pottery practice is continuing to grow and she has her own fully equipped potters’ studio. The sessions she runs are noted for their relaxed atmosphere and fun projects. The pottery studio at the West End Centre is a lovely and well-equipped space. Attendees will be given access and tutoring to use the potters’ wheels. They will also be shown techniques both sculptural and functional.  Everyone who attends is enabled to express their own creativity as well as being supported in tutor-led projects.
