Join us for a relaxed and sociable art workshop whilst enjoying a complimentary drink!

Using ink and acrylic on paper and canvas surfaces we will explore abstract pattern making, and layering of shapes. To start we will work on building confidence in our mark making on paper before working together on one large collaborative piece and finishing off with each individual painting their own masterpiece on an A3 canvas that they can take home with them. For all of these activities we will take inspiration from a still life put together by the tutor. Students are welcome to bring in their own small object to add to the scenery if they so wish.

Tutor: James Alfred Hart

James Alfred Hart (b. 1988, Kettering, UK) lives and works between London and Madrid, Spain.

As a painter, James has been heavily influenced by colour and memory, his paintings are a window into his world. After finishing art school he primarily worked in vibrant figurative paintings and sculpture, and it wasn't until 2013 that he moved into abstract whilst travelling around Brazil for six months. He has since travelled up the length and width of India twice on a quest to source rare pigments and further inspiration.

James' work has been seen in Taiwan, London and Madrid. With murals in Anthropologie stores and private residences across Europe, you will often find him leading workshops, as nothing gives him greater joy than facilitating others in their own creativity.

Tickets: £20 / £18 concessions (price includes a complimentary drink of your choice)
