Ready to get your hands dirty and create something beautiful? Whether you're a complete novice or just looking to refresh your skills, our new beginner’s pottery course will teach you the basics of working with clay – from hand building and throwing to adding your own unique glaze.

No experience necessary—just bring your creativity and willingness to learn!

Studio facilities at West End Centre are well equipped, and you can choose from a wide range of glazes and learn how to use the potters' wheel.

Amy is a ceramicist who creates playful, functional tableware with the hope of bringing people together around food and drink.

Dates: Mondays | 13th April - 27th July 2026 (No class 4th and 25th May, 8th, 22nd and 29th June) 

Time:  7:00pm – 9:00pm

Course Fee: £200.00 / £180.00 concessions 

Materials costs: An amount of clay is included in the course fee, and thereafter we charge per kg to reflect the clay that is used. We have base line clays, buff body and terracotta which are charged at £1 per kg, and more specialised clays: studio white earthenware and Earthstone, stoneware grogged clay/crank clay at £2 per kg. The charge is only levied on work that gets bisque fired, and a ledger is kept in the pottery to be tallied up as is preferred, half termly or termly.
