Monday 25 November 7pm - 9.30pm
Wednesday 4 December 2pm - 4:30pm
Make a large rustic star from willow using a random weave and decorate it with fairy lights. Hang it on your front door instead of a wreath, show it off on the top of your tree or display it on a wall all year round. Various sizes are possible (maximum about 40cm across). Suitable for beginners. All materials will be provided (including fairy lights). A fun and easy class with lots of opportunity to be creative.
Tutored by Judith Needham.
Judith has been teaching basket making and willow sculpture for 10 years now. The first class she taught was at the Westy and she has the Westy to thank for this part of her career as it was a member of staff at the centre who first suggested the idea of passing on her skills through running workshops.
Basket making can be hard work – people often complain of sore thumbs after a class – but it’s very rewarding. Judith tries to make her classes fun and enjoys encouraging people to experiment. Her classes usually sell out fast so book onto the Willow Stars workshop at Hampshire Cultural Trust's West End Centre, Aldershot now!
