Design and make a beautiful blossom inspired silver necklace for yourself to wear or to give as a gift - Mother's Day is the following day!
You will be introduced to piercing (sawing) and soldering, the two must haves for the creation of jewellery. You will then build on the skills you learn over the day covering shaping, filing, texturing and finishing your pieces to a lovely polished shine. A set amount of silver and a chain is supplied with the cost of the course.
The feeling of wearing or giving something, you've created is hard to beat. Making Jewellery is creatively challenging and a fun activity to try.
There will be a 30-minute break for lunch so please bring some food with you.
Tutor: Alex Twin
Alex is a practising Silver jeweller who now runs her own business after spending the last 9 years working within the jewellery industry. She worked for Links of London for many years as their engraver but now loves working from her own bench in her shed! (It's a very nice shed).
She likes nothing more than making jewellery from scratch and wants to spread the joy of just how satisfying hitting silver with hammers and soldering with gas torches can be - the possibilities are endless!
