Alex will introduce you to the two jewellery basics of Piercing (sawing) and Soldering, and then guide you through designing and making a Silver Ring and Silver Pendant. Improvers can work on their own projects with the help of the tutor and choose to watch the weekly demonstrations if it is useful to them. The demonstrations will help build your knowledge of jewellery making, covering a range of skills such as texturing, shaping and doming, wire work for beading and making earring wires, basic stone setting, different soldering methods, oxidising and polishing.

An amount of Silver is supplied with the cost of the course for (enough to cover the Ring and Pendant project for beginners) and after that students will be directed to an online supplier.

The feeling of wearing something you've created, or giving it as a gift knowing you made it - that's really hard to beat. Making Jewellery is creatively challenging and a fun activity to try. The possibilities are endless!
