Stay stronger for longer in this inspiring class to great music throughout the decades. A low impact dance and exercise session for older adults to improve your coordination, strength, flexibility and balance.
The class will start with easy to follow low impact dance routines that can be performed seated or standing.
The second half of the session will explore seated core strength and upper and lower body strength exercises to support daily movement. Barre balance exercises and a stretch and cool down will conclude this inclusive session.
A choice of tea or coffee in the café bar area after the class is included in the price to socialise with participants and boost wellbeing.
What you need: Participants should wear comfortable clothes they can move in and bring a water bottle.
Tutor: Rachael James
Rachael has danced since a young age, training in a variety of dance styles including Contemporary, Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Modern, Disco and Rock ‘n’ Roll. She graduated with a BA (Hons) Dance in Society Degree from the University of Surrey and has a PGCE in Dance.
Rachael was Head of Performing Arts at The Sixth Form College Farnborough from 1997- 2007 and introduced A Level Dance successfully to the College.
Rachael is now a Community Dance Practitioner, sharing her love of Dance with the community. She teaches all ages from Early Years to Seniors and promotes Dance for health and wellbeing. Her classes are inclusive for all. She enjoys sharing her passion and love for dance with the community.
