All aspects of ceramic work are covered in these classes and you will have the opportunity to begin with the fundamentals of hand building. There are also sessions using the potters’ wheel so that functional pottery can be made. The studio at the West End Centre is well equipped and you will have access to many glazes. The courses are run with flexibility so that you can pursue your own goals if you wish. The class is fun, relaxing and friendly for all abilities - discover new talents and abilities!
What you need: We ask that all class and workshop participants over the age of 11 wear face coverings.
Tutor: Fiona Sandover
Fiona is a very experienced teacher of ceramics. She has taught in this field for more than 25 years to all ages and levels of ability. Her pottery practice is continuing to grow and she has her own fully equipped potters’ studio. The sessions that she runs are noted for their relaxed atmosphere and fun projects. The pottery studio at the West End Centre is a lovely space and is well equipped. Attendees will be given access and tutoring to use the potters’ wheels. They will also be shown techniques both sculptural and functional. Everyone who attends is enabled to express their own creativity as well as being supported in tutor led projects.
