Painting in Nature at Wellesley Woodlands

During this two-part course will develop landscape-painting compositions, investigating the landscape around you.

You will learn about composition in situ, sketching ideas and importance, paint application, tonal appreciation, how to create the effect of distance and colour mixing techniques. Fatima will explain about how acrylics and water /oil based technique behave and different ways to approach the painting.

Fatima will start her painting with acrylics and then, once the composition is starting to work she will move into oils.

What you need: No materials will be provided so please bring the items detailed here. We also ask that all participants over the age of 11 bring a mask.

Where to meet: Information on exact location in Wellesley Woodlands will be emailed prior to the event.

Tutor: Fatima Pantoja
Fatima is originally from Spain. A few years after she finished her Fine Arts degree she moved to the UK. Currently she works as a Freelance Artist (from digital illustrations to oil paintings, sculptures…everything!!) and an Art teacher which she says is the perfect job for her as she loves talking and painting! She likes to push her own boundaries and her work covers a wide range of techniques and subjects, but my favourite subject is portraiture. She participates in exhibitions regularly and co-curates a Gallery (THAT Gallery) in Basingstoke. She was also lucky enough to be selected to participate in the Heats for Sky Landscape artist of the year in 2017 and became semi-finalist at the Sky portrait artist of the year in 2019.

Tickets: £20 for both sessions

Sessions: Saturday 14 August and 21 August, 2pm-4pm
