Explore some printed favourites and share with likeminded people every month. The club is for everyone who wants to read and chat about a range of books - over a pint if you prefer! It’s the perfect way to kick start your reading habit and make new friends.
This term the book club will discuss:
Monday 24 February - All the light we cannot see by Anthony Doerr
"A novel to live in, learn from, and feel bereft over when the last page is turned.” Booklist
“Tackling questions of survival, endurance and moral obligations during wartime, the book is as precise and artful and ingenious as the puzzle boxes the heroine’s locksmith father builds for her. Impressively, it is also a vastly entertaining feat of storytelling.” New York Times Book Review
Tutors: Kath and Mike Hitchings
Kath and Mike like reading. Mike reads lots. Kath knits a lot of socks but would like to read more. They are going to facilitate this book club. They are not great experts by any stretch they just want to facilitate a book club! Mike once got thrown out of a maths lecture for reading the newspaper!
Kath thinks they could be the next Richard and Judy.
