Our new regular Saturday music nights are an opportunity to enjoy some of the best of what our region has to offer, from the very local to those from only slightly further afield. With sometimes one, two or three acts on the schedule, and presented in a safe and friendly environment we hope that you’ll enjoy the company of long-standing Westy favourites or find something new to love.
This week’s line-up includes...
As an indie-rock outfit with a little bit of blues and prog mixed in, Ilona Mahieu wants to give you a little bit of everything. With warm dreamy guitar sounds, rich vocals, poetic lyrics, and drum and bass lines that pack a punch, this is an experience you won't want to miss.
"With her mesmeric voice and gift for songwriting, Ilona's introspective outlook is painted brilliantly on songs such as 'Maslow' and the beautifully crafted 'Cigarette'. Ilona is one to watch and furthermore listen carefully to." - Joseph Rideout, Dead Sound Promo
Fusing rock and roots with a healthy dose of psychedelia and bluesy funk, the Jonny Phillips Trio incorporate a range of styles to create a sound that feels familiar but unique at the same time. Think a cross between Ben Howard and Pink Floyd, John Butler and Jimi Hendrix. Having toured the UK as main support for Wille & the Bandits back in 2017, the JPT have since been busy writing and honing their sound, and are currently recording their latest material, set for release very soon.
Event: Saturday 3 October, 8pm
