Annabel Allum // ARK // Drug Store Romeos // Hollow Hand (solo) for Independent Venue Week
One of the great joys of coming to the Westy is catching acts on the way up. This extra special bill not only features four hotly tipped artists from the UK scene, but all four grew up playing in this very venue which makes it magical. Singer-songwriter ARK first played here when she was 15 and had to get her Dad to tune her guitar midset – now she has over 3 million plays on Spotify, has toured with Tom Odell and played BST Hyde Park. Annabel Allum did some of her early gigs here and has since played Reading Festival, toured Europe and has been invited out to Eurosonic and SXSW this year. This is a solo show for Annabel. We met the ethereal Drug Store Romeos we met while they were still at college and they have just been snapped up Golden Arm management whose roster features acts including Goat Girl and The Big Moon, so expect to hear a lot more about them in the next year or so. Hollow Hand’s 60’s influenced psych-folk is classic yet fresh. His debut album at the tail end of 2018 drew plaudits across the music press around the world and he returns to the Westy on the back of a French tour. The band is the creation of Max Kinghorn-Mills who will play this show solo.
We are so proud of everything these guys have done, and would love you to be talking about this gig in a year’s time. Don’t miss out.
