Children's Festival: Pots for Tots

Calling all children (preschool ages) and parents/guardians who love tactile and manipulation materials! Come and experience this wonderful natural resource and learn pottery.

You will be using two types of clay to make sculptural creations to then be fired.

This workshop is designed for children who can sit either on a parent/guardian lap or alone and can listen to short instructions. Although the clay is a natural material, it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to monitor child’s use and to avoid eating

Tutor: Kim Whelton

Kim has been working with clay for over 25 years and approach all projects, new and old with experimental and explorative techniques. Although she studied Ceramics at University, she has gone on to learn photography and textile techniques and cross apply these to her work. Her current work is developing form and glazing to re-create mixed media work she has created in her photography.

“Kim has opened up so many ideas for me and encourages us all to do our own thing.”
