Children's Festival: Family Willow Sculpture

Learn willow craft techniques and take inspiration from examples to create a willow sculpture masterpiece or even a mini plaited basket! It's a fantastic session for all the family and there’s so much to be gained from learning together with your children. Everyone is bound to enjoy it.

“We’ve had a lovely morning. Really clear explanations and instructions.”

“Judith is amazing and we covered loads in a short time.”

“Excellent, natural teacher. Very friendly, reassuring and patient.”

For ages 5+.

Tutor: Judith Needham

Judith has been teaching basket making and willow sculpture for 10 years now. The first class she taught was at the Westy and it was actually a member of staff at the centre who first suggested the idea of passing on her skills through running workshops. Basket making can be hard work – people often complain of sore thumbs after a class – but it’s very rewarding. Judith tries to make her classes fun and enjoys encouraging people to experiment.
