Am I Invisible Yet? is a personal and irreverent one-man show performed by Dunstan Bruce, ex-frontman with chart-topping band Chumbawamba, who takes the audience on an existential voyage told through poetry, prose, music and projection.
Am I Invisible Yet? is no cosy fireside chat, with Dunstan reminiscing about his Tubthumping past. It is a vital blast of angst, anger and despair. It is théâtre du coeur. It is a love letter to hope, humanity and the haphazard heart.
Feeling increasingly invisible, impotent and apoplectic in today's world, wondering if we're all going to hell in a handcart, Dunstan gives us a piece of performance poetry and physical theatre that rages and ranges across angst and despair, comedy and delight, middle-aged dissolution and disillusion.
Fuelled with a whisky drink, a vodka drink, a cider drink, a lager drink and a love for the new generation of artists and activists, maybe – just maybe – if we do the things we're most afraid of, perhaps we can still get back up again...
"A charming, collusion-smashing performer."
Paul Levy, FringeReview
"A great way of p***ing the night away with one of pop's most interesting one-hit wonders. A brilliant live debut."
Nick Coquet, The Source
"Angry-funny, in-yer-face endearing – the punky performance poet and the more mellow, reflective self-mocker."
Philippa Hammond, Sussex Playwrights
"Thought-provoking as well as entertaining. Brilliant."
