Gigs@theWEC

Gigs, Gigs, Gigs
The Westy has an amazing heritage when it comes to gigs (see below for some of the better known acts that have graced our stage). We are also proud to be a venue that tries to help bands develop, with both advice and practical help. Time has been against us lately, but our mission for the next twelve months is to boost what we do for young bands locally, and keep bringing inspiring headline acts from around the country. Keep an eye on our official website or www.myspace.com/crashlandinggigs for details.

This is a very exciting find! Skiffle, mountain folk and dustbowl blues mingle with a 60’s vibe and classic pop to create something fantastically fresh, reminiscent of Beefheart and The Zutons. After stardom with The Las and Cast, it would have been easy to rest on his laurels, but in this new outfit John has gone way beyond that and achieved something truly inspired.
