Classes for Adults

Give it a go at our classes and workshops for adults and children
 
We have excellent classes run by expert tutors for anyone keen to learn without exam pressure.  On top of that they are a great place to meet new people, have fun and take a well-earned break from everyday life too. Unless otherwise stated, no previous experience is required and all materials are provided. 
Classes run from Monday 21 April

For children’s courses the concessionary price applies to the children of those in receipt of state benefits.

Yoga for Adults

6.15 – 7.45pm £72  for 12 weeks

Are you stressed? Need some quiet time to relax and refresh your body and mind? Then Yoga is for you – a combination of gentle physical and mental exercise to promote flexibility and calm the mind, based on the Hatha method.  Led by Jenny Commerford.

 

 

 

Life Drawing for adults

7 – 9pm £76 (£71 concs)

This course is led by our artist in residence, Stephen Critchley.  Our models will work through a variety of poses while you work with many mediums including paint and charcoal.

* We are looking for life models, £18 per two hour session.

Poetry Workshop

free event 7 – 9pm

Led by Rodney Wood, this fun session will enable you to share poems  with others in the group in an informal setting, over a drink. Older Wiser Zanier Acting Troop 18-80 yrs.

OWZAT seeks to explore what it is to be human. Inside a two-hour space on a Tuesday evening, you can be just who you want to be and escape the stress of everyday life. Our group prides itself on investigating the social world around us and creating original theatre out of what we find.

Silver Jewellery Making in 5 weeks

7-9pm £52 (£47 concs)

Price includes starter weight of silver, additional materials at extra cost.

Learn all the basic techniques from soldering to texturing and mark making, and create your own pieces – rings – earrings – the choice is yours. Our inspiring tutor, has heaps of hints to give you at these fun filled sessions. Beginners welcome but if you’ve attended one of our jewellery courses before, you will also have the chance to put to good use the skills you have already learned.

 

Stone & Silver Jewellery Making in 5 Weeks (starts 5th Jun)

7-9pm £52 (£47 concs)

Price includes starter weight of silver and stone, additional materials at extra cost.(N.B. Beginners joining this class will just work with the silver, not the stones).

 

Put your existing silversmithing skills to practice, setting stones in your silver jewellery. Choose from our selection including turquoise, lapis lazuli, moonstone or rose quartz, and learn how to set our stone in your own silver ring or pendant. (N.B. Beginners joining this class will just work with the silver, not the stones).

PAG’s MADD CLUB: dance

for young people with special needs and their siblings, aged 9 – 16 years. Thursdays 5.30 – 5.30pm term time only.

Gremlin Dance tutors create a supportive and energising atmosphere for special needs youngsters who want to have a go! Try it once and they are hooked! PAG volunteers work with the tutors, giving extra support one-to-one with those who need it.  Parents are required to stay and can relax in the Westy bar area.
